Why Is It So Demanding?

Gulmarg is a small town in Kashmir and is home to the Gulmarg ski course, which at one point was the world’s highest ski slope. With such an extreme location, it’s not surprising that the skiing conditions are highly unpredictable. In fact, most of the time there is no snow on the slopes so skiers are forced to negotiate obstacles like rocks and boulders as they ascend. It isn’t unusual for a skier to go up and down six or seven times before finally reaching their destination at the top! 2) You will be carrying your own gear up the mountain – including skis, boots, water bottle and snacks.

4) You should know that there are no guarantees about finishing – this is one of the most challenging ski races in the world!

You’ll need to be physically fit and in good health to take on this excursion, so don’t think you can just sign up as a beginner and expect everything to go smoothly. If you’re not an avid skier, it will also be tough for you to keep up with the others who are more experienced. – You will need a permit from the Forest Department office in Srinagar which takes about 2 weeks to process.

Preparing for the Gulmarg Skiing Course entails a lot of preparations. Here are some tips that might help you out before you take on the challenge. 

1) First, be sure to research the weather conditions in advance. With snow and rain possible, be prepared with appropriate clothing and gear. 

2) Second, note that this is not a beginner course, so if you don’t have a lot of experience skiing, be sure to get instruction beforehand. There are many ski schools in Gulmarg that offer classes for beginners or refresher courses for advanced skiers who want to brush up on their skills before tackling the mountain again.
